Hey Samsung,

I want to report a serious issue I encountered and also make everyone aware.

If you use the "Sensors Off" toggle on your and then lock your phone, the screen may start flashing on and off repeatedly—and I mean nonstop.

From my knowledge, it seems to be caused by theface recognition. I was barely able to unlock the device, but even then, the flashing continued. Restarting the phone was incredibly difficult as the power off menu would only show for about half a second, and honestly, I went into full panic mode trying to fix it. It took me a long time to get out of it, and it was so scary, I was legit waiting for the phone to go into recovery mode.

This is definitely a flaw that I recommend Samsung look into and fix, as it can really throw you into a stressful situation.

What I recommend is to have the sensors off when the phone is locked, but when the phone screen is on, maybe add a line of code saying "if screen on, then camera access on" and then when phone is unlocked "Sensors Off". This would really help prevent this problem while the sensors off toggle still doing it's job.

To everyone reading this: just be cautious if you’re thinking about using the "Sensors Off" toggle, ESPECIALLY if you use face recognition.

Hi Kathrin1,

Yes, RedDogRabbit is right! Issues arising solely from Developer Options may not warrant being labeled as "serious" for the general user base since Developer Options are intended for advanced users and testing. This feature is part of Developer Options or Quick Settings.

If face recognition is enabled and "Sensors Off" is activated, the phone attempts to access the front camera for face unlock but is blocked by the "Sensors Off" toggle. We recommend you to avoid using "Sensors Off" with face recognition enabled.

We will consider this as a feedback and forward to the appropriate team to refine these features.

Thank you.

"Sensors Off" Toggle?

Seems to be a non issue.

Can you post a screen shot this "Sensors Off" Toggle I've never seen it.

Go into developer options then tap on quick settings developer tiles. You'll get a screen with an option to enable the sensors off toggle on your quick tiles

Well if it's through Developer Options, Reporting this as a "serious issue" is ridiculous.

Developer Options are hidden by default for a reason.

If people want to play around with Developer Options, that's up to them, and if the issue is only reproduced via Dev Options... it's a non issue as I initially replied to the OP's post...
