folders not visible in whatsapp. - FIXED

After the OneUI 5 update, whatsapp only shows whatsapp folders when selecting an image from recents or gallery. 
 To select something from different folder I have to do additional step to choose from gallery app. Can someone confirm if its an android 13 thing or OneUI 5 thing or WhatsApp decided to do it that way

Nevermind, the access to photos and videos were disabled for WhatsApp after the update. Worked after enabling it.

In the whatsapp app info. Hold the WhatsApp icon until popup appears. Click on info icon. Or you can open from settings too.

Thank you. I was struggling with the same "issue". For those who wants to know how to re enable the images permission:

1 Long click on the Whatsapp icon. It will open a menu with a little "i" on the upper right corner.

2 Click on this little "i". It will open a 'APP informations' screen.

3 Click on 'Permissions'.

4 Look for 'Photos and Videos' and click on it.

5 That's it. Works for me. Hope works for others.

My wife and I am going through the same situation.

She has a Samsung Galaxy F23 and I have a Samsung Galaxy F54.

The WhatsApp folders don't show up in the Internal Storage. 

However it shows up in the Gallery. 

To download them into my laptop, I have to create new folders in my phone's memory card, then connect it to the laptop and then download the pic / videos / etc
