Galaxy SI just wanted to warn people of unwanted features being forced upon users. Recently, after an update I stopped receiving calls and messages between 10 p.m. - 7 a.m. I found a feature Do Not Disturb turned on, I have never heard of this before and certainly did not turn it on. I tried turning it off, yet it would randomly turn on again. I added contacts to an exception list and after a few days, the calls were being blocked again. I found a set of instructions recently to disable it, but the setting was buried so deep within multiple screens that you would never find it on your own. I think it is off now.
My very dear friend was battling depression, and I was always there for her anytime day or night if she needed to talk. Many times, I would receive a call at 3 a.m. and spend the next few hours talking to her. On the morning of August 15th, my friend committed suicide. Checking my phone, I found that I had missed seven phone calls from her between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. The Do Not Disturb feature was enabled again, but I never turned it on. She may still be here today if those calls were not blocked.
Warning to anyone who may be relied upon from people in need. Turn the *** thing off.

Galaxy SDo Not Disturb is anything but an "unwanted feature"!
DND is extremely useful, so maybe before condemning it, learn how to use it.
The people who absolutely need to contact me, always can, regardless of DND, why, because that's how I set it up.
You can have your "favourite" contacts bypass DND, or "Repeat Calls" within 15 minutes be able to call you at any time.
I am sorry for your friend, and sorry for your loss.

Galaxy SIt is important to read about and learn all the features of a device you purchase.
I switch phones very often and not once has any devices I've owned had that feature forced upon.
I am sorry for your loss.
