Hi, my messages are disappearing as I compose them, my screen minimizes as I am watching a video and on my goggle maps, text message doesn't close. I believe it may have started after an update but not sure
Any ideas on how to fix these issues

Thx!

Sounds like there's still an issue with Samsung's Messaging app..

You can try a couple of things.

  • Settings > Apps & Search for Messages, Click on Samsung Messages & scroll down to "Allow to Appear on Top" & Toggle it OFF.

If you still have problems,

Go to the Play Store & Download Google Messages & Set it as the Default Messaging app.

If you switch to Google Messages you won't lose any of your texts.

Thanks, my text messages, fb messenger are both disappearing as I type, and or the keyboard as well as my screen is flashing and my Google Chrome search bar is now gone. I did not try your suggestion as I think it is more than text message issue. Any ideas? Thank you :)

From what you are describing, it seems to be quite similar to what others have posted.

UI Glitches (User Interface) could present in a variety of different ways.

I'd start with the simple (seemingly) more common "fix".

If switching to Google Messages & making it the Default Messaging app (at least temporarily) & NOT allowing Samsung Messages to appear on top, doesn't resolve the issue for you..

Then if it was happening on my device, I'd backup my phone with Smart Switch & Factory Reset. This should rule out any hardware issues.

If you Factory Reset - You NEED to know your passwords, as after a Factory Reset, your device will be as it was when you first received it.

Thank you, this doesn't sound like it will be an easy fix. The problem started after an update. Gee I wasn't wanting to do a complete reset, I don't want to lose my history in my messages etc. And this tends to happen - it did when I purchased a new samsung - when we switched from the old phone to the new one. I will try your suggestion of switching to Samsung messages... and let u know result, thx again

Just an FYI. When I've switched to a new phone, or Factory Reset, I haven't lost any text messages or images.

I use Smart Switch to backup to the external sd card, but you can also use it to backup to your computer.

For your messages, select "all time" in Smart Switch to backup ALL your Texts.

It really doesn't take THAT long to restore your phone using Smart Switch. The longest part of the process is after you have clicked on Restore, as that takes a bit of time, but doesn't require any input from you.

Another FYI, I always perform a Factory Reset after EVERY Android version update. Never lost anything.

I do have my Photos saved to my external sd & computer AND my Google Drive.. because those are something that I NEVER want to lose.

Yes, let me know if your issues are resolved 🤞👍

Hi sherr,  Emptying the application cache will remove residual files that could slow down the application.

In Settings, swipe up and tap Apps. Select the app you want to delete. Tap Storage, then tap Clear cache.

I'm having exactly the same symptoms, screen flashes randomly, typed text disappears. FB messenger is worst affected, you could be typing a whole paragraph and it disappears. Same happens on texts, emails etc.

I signed up here just to add this! 🙂 Following closely for a fix.
