So I just picked up a S21 Ultra and charged it for the first time. While charging, I could not keep the phone powered on. It would power off, I would power it back on using the power button, but once it went to sleep again, it would power off, and I would have to power back on again.

I was using my Galaxy TAB S7+ charger to charge it. Is this why? Is this charger too much for this phone?

I am using a cheapo generic no name charger right now to test, and it seems to be fine?

Thanks

I think the S7 charger only support up to 15W. But S21 Ultra needs 25W. That could be a reason your phone turned off?

Not sure, I would have expected a tab charger to be more powerful than less ... if anything.

I agree with Tallman. I'd also use the Charging block that is designed for your S21 Ultra.

It's unfortunate that Samsung decided to not include the Charging block, for "environmental reasons" 😂

so I picked up a sammy 25w charge block today, and all is well. Guess it doesn't like the Tab S7+ charge block! Thanks for the info.

Hi Darius7386, I suggest you perform a test on the device. Please go to the Samsung Members app which is already pre-installed on your Samsung device >> Get Help >> Diagnostics >> battery. Please write back to us with the results.

Hi Valeriya,

It says Battery Status Normal, Life: good, capacity 5000mAh, battery working normally.

I have the same issue.

I plug my charger from my S10, generic charger, powerbank or USB port into my s21 and the phone power's off and won't charge. Happens even without power running through the cable.

I can charge wireless fine. The battery is fine according to the members diagnostic but for obvious reasons I can't get a diagnosis from the charging cable since the devices instantly turns off.

Sounds like it might be an issue with the USB port?

Did you inspect it to see if there's anything obvious?

Have you tried a simple Reboot?
