Google Maps crashes every time I use the search for an address, then touch Directions or Start for google to speak directions. It has never happened on my non Samsung phones. Am I doing something wrong?

Check play store if Google Map needs update.

Already done. I left the same message with Google. They mentioned uninstalling the updates from maps and clearing the cache. Done that too. Still the same. This is so frustrating. I also have OnePlus phones. They never had that issue. They have other issues now. That's why I decided to get the S22 ultra.

Did you restart the phone after installing Google Map? Sometimes give a restarts helps a bit.

Hi, we recommend you to perform Wipe cache on your S22 ultra device for solving this issue.

This will not erase personal data on the phone. It deletes temporary cache files in the phone.

1) Turn off the device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power Key.

3) When the Android logo displays, release all keys ('Installing system update' will show for about 30 - 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).

4) Press the Volume down key several times to highlight “wipe cache partition.”

5) Press the Power key to select.

6) Press the Volume down key to highlight “yes” and press the Power key to select.

7) When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.

8)Press the Power key to restart the device.

Hello Nylah. I followed your instructions on deleting the cache. No change. It is still crashing.

If you get frequent crashes only on using Google map but not in other apps, you can try to uninstall and reinstall google maps again. If the frequent crashes also happens in other apps, you better exchange your phone. It may be a defective hardware problem. Google maps is a very stable app, I have used it for many many years using different galaxy phones, I have never crashed ones.

I agree I've never had this with my other phones. So far it is only Google maps only.

Hi, as the issue is happening only with the Google maps itself, please try to clear data and verify if the issue is solved with Google maps.
Go to Settings >> Apps >> Select Maps app >> Tap Storage >> Clear data.
