I recently "upgraded" my Samsung S22 to an S24..Since doing so, the pictures in Google keep are not syncing with my laptop. The notes sync, but the pictures do not. I reinstalled the app today on my phone and it prompted me to turn on sync, so I did. Problem is, my phone synced with my laptop and not the other way around. All pictures that I have taken through Google Keep on the last 6 weeks disappeared 😭 I have no idea how to get these pictures back or how to solve the sync issue so that the pictures are visible on both devices. Yes, I went to settings and turned sync on. Google Keep has worked on every other Samsung device that I have had.

I don't believe that Google Keep for Android, is designed for Images / Videos. Google Photos is what Android uses.

If you have Google Photos, check to see if your images are there, or if you use Smart Switch or another Cloud Backup?

Thank you for your thoughts. I have been using Google Keep with all my previous Samsung phones without any issues for years. I've only encountered problems since I upgraded to the S24. It's so frustrating!

Hi dragonfly12345,

Yes, Google Keep is more focused on notes, text, and simple images, while Google Photos is specifically designed for managing and storing your media like photos and videos. It’s very likely that the images you added to Google Keep might also be backed up or stored in Google Photos or another cloud service if you've been using one.

Open the Google Photos app or go to photos.google.com on your laptop. Search for the images or videos that you think were in Google Keep. If you used Keep to attach pictures, they might have synced to Google Photos automatically.

If you used Samsung Smart Switch or another cloud backup service like OneDrive or Google Drive, check there as well.

Smart Switch might have backed up images from your previous device, so check in the Samsung Cloud or your chosen backup service.

If you were syncing your images with Google Drive, check if any of your Keep images are backed up there.

If you can’t find the images in these places, the sync issue might have caused them to be lost during the transition between devices. However, it’s worth double-checking these areas first.

Thank you.

Thank you for your response. I will look into those options.
Everything worked great with my S22. Once I updated to the S24, pictures that I take in Google keep no longer sync with my laptop. I'm a teacher, so I use keep all the time and take pictures all the time.
I can't figure out why the pictures won't sync, but the notes will. I'm having to use another platform now and it's not working for me. Any and all suggestions welcome! Thanks again!

Hi, the problem is that Google doesn't like pictures with big sizes, so all you have to do is compress the images and upload them again, and for the new pictures try to set the quality to low or something acceptable in terms of size for google keep

I hope this helps

Since I have my S24, I have the same problem. I had no issues with google keep and taking pictures and sync with my laptop with my Huawei. I take the pictures with the google keep app itself, so the size can't be the problem! Any more ideas, how I can solve this? Thanks!
