I am signed in to playstore with my primary Gmail account as I always have. Now I am getting an error message that a sign in request by my Telus ported Gmail account is trying to log in. Anyone else getting that message?

I can log into the playstore app using all my other Gmail accounts except the telus ported one. Every time I try and log in with any account I get the telus account error message.

Are you still with Telus?

I would always strongly advise people against using any Carrier based email accounts / Addresses.

Mostly because if you ever switch Carriers, you lose access to your Carrier based email account.

Ya when I switched from Shaw they terminated my email account instantly. No warning nothing.

You can have multiple Google Accounts, just use the same personal Gmail account for the Play Store & all your Google Apps, and it should be fine.

Well thats what I thought I had been doing. So not sure why the telus ported Gmail account is trying to access even though I am logged in with my primary Gmail account. Weird and wacky stuff.

Go to Settings > Accounts and Backup > Manage Accounts & Remove the Telus email account from your device.

I've got several different Gmail accounts, none of them linked to any Carrier, and I will always have access to them, in part because they are not linked to anything that I don't control.

You can easily create a new Gmail account to use as a backup, and you can decide if you want a new Gmail account linked, or not, or just as an "in case" Recovery email account.

If you're annoyed with the Telus prompt, if it was me, I'd just remove it.

I never use a phone carrier email account on my phone as a primary email.
