I recently bought a brand new Samsung S23 Ultra at Costco in Canada. I have issues paying with Google Pay or Samsung Wallet. I add my card without problems to both apps but when I try to pay appear the message DECLINED. I deleted storage data and cache memory, verify NFC is activated, use the Samsung Members to see if the NFC is good, uninstall and install the apps, also restart phone and delete the card and add it again but the problem persist. The cars was accepted of my bank to use at Google Pay and Samsung Wallet.

Aside from the obvious, did you see that your Card was Verified by your Bank using Samsung Wallet?

Well, the previously unspoken.. do you have available credit?

I've never heard of "declined", because of a technical issue with Samsung Wallet.

I have the same problem also, I have plenty of money in my account and also I live in Canada 🇨🇦 some places the phone tap will work and others it won't so I have to switch to my actual card. But yes I have the same problem as well. Try using it in 7-Eleven or no frills and maybe Safeway just test the waters on which stores it will take.

Hi Balitas,

We are sorry to hear this issue from you and appreciate your efforts in trying the necessary troubleshooting steps. Here are a few additional things you can check:

Ensure NFC is set to "Tap & Pay": Go to Settings > Connections > NFC and contactless payments. Ensure Google Pay or Samsung Wallet is selected as the default payment app.

Check for Software Updates: Go to Settings > Software update and ensure your device is running the latest software version.

Verify with Your Bank: Some banks require additional verification steps. Contact your bank and verify if there are any issues with your card being used for mobile payments.

Test with a Different Card: Try adding a different card to see if the issue is specific to the card you are using.

Factory Reset NFC Settings: Go to Settings > Connections > NFC and contactless payments and toggle NFC off and on again.

Thank you.
