We request that Samsung reinstate Google Translate as the default translation application. Samsung Translate's limited language support and lower accuracy are unsatisfactory. Similar to keyboard options, providing users with the choice to utilize Google Translate is essential. The Galaxy AI interpreter is not a suitable replacement; Google Translate offers superior performance and should have been the initial release. The current Samsung translation application is not yet ready for prime time and does not meet the required standards.

Yeah, Samsung Translate is pretty useless, unless you only ever want to translate from one language.

If you want to be able to translate multiple languages, you have to download the language package for every one of them.. each language package is ~ 400 Meg.

Google translate does it without having to download anything.

Samsung is very good with some things, others, not so much.

Google Translate leverages internet connectivity, unlike Samsung Translate's on-device functionality. However, it's unclear why recent flagship devices from both Google and Samsung, equipped with Gemini Nano, don't utilize this powerful on-device AI. These devices possess the processing power to enable offline AI functionality, eliminating reliance on phone storage or cloud services. Given the presence of the Gemini Nano engine, why isn't offline access enabled for features like Interpreter Call Assist and S Pen translation? While Google Translate doesn't require storage, eliminating the need for internet connectivity by utilizing Gemini Nano would be advantageous.

For your information, Gemini Nano is characterized by the following:

1. On-device AI: Enhanced privacy, zero additional costs, and offline functionality.

2. Smallest Gemini family model: Designed for efficiency and compactness to accommodate the limited resources of edge devices.

3. Multimodal capabilities: As demonstrated at last year's Google event, it processes text, images, and audio simultaneously.

4. Stateless operation: Each conversation is treated independently; past interactions are not retained.

5. Managed distribution: Google handles model downloads and updates on Android, simplifying the process for developers.

6. Limited device support: Currently available on Pixel 8/9 series, S24/S25 series, Z Fold and Flip 6, Moto Razr, and select flagship models.

7. Open for experimentation: Already integrated into various Google apps and accessible to developers for Android application development.

Hi qwer123,

Thank you for your feedback regarding the changes to the S Pen translation feature.
We recognize that many users valued Google Translate for its wider language support and higher accuracy.

Currently, Samsung Translate is set as the default translation tool. However, your request to provide users with the option to select their preferred translation app, much like keyboard options, will be forwarded to the appropriate teams.

We appreciate your input and ongoing support for Galaxy products.
