Why did you have to add it? I didn't on my S22+.

I use my Hotspot a lot so I felt that I needed one. My phone is official status too so... 🙂

It's virtually impossible to have any recent Flagship, as anything but "Official", since the Bootloader is locked on almost every North American Samsung device.

The European Snapdragon S23 series, does however have an unlockable Bootloader, and can be Rooted, not so in Canada or the US.

It's strange, I know that some people with the same device, and same Canadian Carrier don't have it, and others do.

You would think that possibly some Carriers might have disabled it, which would necessitate adding it with adb, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I remember at one point, my S20 Ultra didn't have the Mobile HotSpot, and if you have been with Samsung for some time, you may remember when the Mobile Data Toggle wasn't there. In both cases, they needed to be added using adb.

Samsung was initially saying that the Carriers disabled it, but then admitted that it was Samsung Canada who were responsible..

It's bizarre as it makes no sense for either Samsung or the Canadian Carriers to even care. 🤷🏼

I've been with Samsung since their S3. Little S3 that I replaced the antenna and speaker portion with the headphone jack at the top of it. I miss it. 🙂 But yes I do remember when they did that. I've had the S6 Edge +, S8+, S10+, S21 5G, and the S22+ that I have now.
