Don't know if this will help, but I noticed an improvement in smoothness & speed going from my S23 Ultra to the S25 Ultra... Mostly the speed of Reboots.. but day to day usage you probably won't notice an earth shattering difference.
I don't care about 7 years of updates, because I'd never keep a phone for more than a couple of years.
Unless there is something not working to your satisfaction on the S22 you might as well wait for the S26. Maybe it will have something worth upgrading for.
The S25 is a good update for S21 and older. I came from a S20 and it was insane. My dad went from a S22 ultra to a S25 ultra and said there was a decent change. If you have the money then upgrade, if not then dont
