Galaxy SSounds like you inadvertently moved everything to external storage?
Are the other images / files where you moved the videos to?
If you used a file explorer, and selected only the videos, that's all that should have been moved, but if you selected the folder where the videos & other images were stored, that would explain what happened m

Galaxy SYou did something wrong.. I know that sometimes when you highlight a couple of files to move/copy/delete, occasionally all of the files get highlighted, don't know if it's static electricity or something, but it has happened to me, but fortunately I noticed before I completed the action.
For it to have been anything else, just doesn't make sense.. to me at least.

Galaxy SNote: Google also has a file management app called My Files (blue icon) which from time to time shows up when either downloading / uploading files here and there that I've notice but I cannot repeatedly duplicate invoking the Google version.
Can you confirm using 3rd party app or Samsungs native file manager?
Also can you use the same file manager you used eith connected external storage to see your media and CAREFULLY restore what you wanted?

Galaxy SI actually use a couple of 3rd party file Explorers, Root Explorer & Solid Explorer.
I really don't think that it's an issue with the OS, or even Samsung's File Explorer.
I move images & videos daily from & to my S23 Ultra, and in all the years I've been using Samsung devices, I've never lost any images or videos.. that more than 12 years.
It's possible that there was a momentary glitch, but I've never experienced one.
It certainly wouldn't be something that I would switch devices over..
Is it possible that the videos were moved to a hidden Folder somewhere?

Galaxy SI am sorry to hear that you lost these important memories.
If I understand you correctly, you are using a SanDisk Micro sd card to store images from your S24.. so are you using a micro sd card adaptor from the Type C USB port on the S24?
That doesn't sound like the best way to do it.
I use a Samsung USB OTG storage device myself. There's many good quality and reliable OTG storage devices, I just happen to be using Samsung's.
I know that there's some Recovery software available, but I have no idea if any are any good, or just a waste of time and money?
But you could look into it?
Good luck 🤞🏻
