The changes seem so unnecessary and user-unfriendly. I now have to use my thumb to reach across the top half-width of a 6.5" display to bring down the status bar. It's impractical.
You've moved the eye-comfort shield button away from the brightness slider, and it can't be added back. I saw this change and I was just like -- why would you do this. I use that feature all the time in combination with the brightness slider. It's bad user-interface design and a regression.
You've duplicated apps such as Clock which just seems like a fundamental mistake. So now my alarms appear in one copy and not the other, and I never remember which is which since they're both called Clock.
Do Samsung consider the elderly when making these changes? My father who has used Samsung for years has become used to the interface to a certain degree. He is now completely lost trying to use the menu. He simply cannot remember the change and it has to be explained to him multiple times. I think the drop-down menu implementation has always been flawed, its a pretty terrible design to be fair, but this update is just an unneccesary complication. Why do I say terrible? Well for example you're on a call, and you wish to do something in the background, most of us can figure it out, again the elderly can't. Hidden buttons on the bottom of the screen to flip between apps or go home, this is poor user-interface design and always has been. Want to return to the call, either use the hidden buttons or drop down the status bar. Oh you can't find the status bar anymore? Terrible design.
