Hello,

I just purchased a Galaxy S22.
How do I set individualized text notifications?

I was able to set customized riingtones for when someone phones.

On my Galaxy S6, text tones were in the Contacts.

Does not appear to be the case woth the S22.

Thank-you...

Actually, yes if you delete all the texts from one contact, then the notification reverts to the Default Samsung Notification setting, this is with Google Messages. I don't use Samsung's.

Assuming you're using Samsung messages, just open one of your text messages, click on the 3 dots top right and click on notification sound, choose a custom one for that contact..

For Google messages, open one of your messages, click on the 3 dots top right, click on details, notifications, and scroll down to sounds and choose your custom one.

Hello,

I tried the above for both texting apps.

When I delete the whole conversation, the notification soud goes back to the default.

Does this happen to you?

Like RedDogRabbit mentioned, it shouldn't go back to default if you're doing it correctly. If they are in your contacts list, it should stay to the custom notification chosen.

Hi, I can only choose the ringtone in Contacts. I cannot choose text notifications.

Yes if you go in contacts you can only change ringtones. You have to select your contact in your messages app to change the notification sounds for that specific contact.

Thank-you.

When you delete a whole conversation, does your notification change?

I wonder why Samsumg made this change.

I don't use any custom notification sounds but I'll try it out and see.

Thanks now i won't need to test it out 😁

It also makes sense since the custom notification sound is set in the messages app and not through the contacts app
