Keyboard languages missing in S20

I saw some people seem to have the same issue with various languages, but couldn't find any helpful answer in any thread.

I live in Japan and  just got a Galaxy S20. I'm trying to add the French keyboard but I don't have the option - the list of available languages is very limited.

I thought that maybe the available languages vary according to where the phone is purchased, but I'm not too sure... Also it seems many users in different regions encountered similar issues.

I tried checking for updates and resetting the keyboard as well, but no change.

Any ideas?

Can you try the following?

Settings →General Management →Language and input→ On-screen keyboard→Samsung Keyboard →Language and types→ Manage Input languages

Scroll down and download French languge.

You're supposed to be able to add keyboard languages without any regard as to the origin of your device. If you open your keyboard, then select the keyboard's settings and then select languages, is there still a limited choice of languages? Only system languages are supposed to be geo-limited. Though this may have changed...
