Mms videos come through and send videos in quality that's about as clear as drawing with a rock. All the people iknow with iphones, their videos come through as HD crystal clear. But if iphone sends me a video, it's back to caveman drawing quality. I've turned every video and quality setting to maximum, sends videos as original size and quality, etc. Why is this so crappy? And if i sends me than 1 picture message at a time it kills the quality as well

Because with MMS you can only send small files, so it greatly compress videos .. the best way to share videos is either with RCS (andriod to andriod ) or Samsung Link which pretty much uploads it to smasung cloud and then sends the link to the other party

Right on, I'll give it a shot. Thank you very much.

Hi, Please try using RCS as suggested by Habsfan. RCS (Rich Communication Service) messaging is a new type of messaging service that is more advanced than regular SMS and MMS. If you want to use RCS messages, you can download the Android Messaging app. To download the app, navigate to the Play Store, and then search for and select Android Messaging. Tap Install. Then, navigate to Settings and tap Apps. Search for and select the Android Messaging app, and then tap Set as default. Note: Chat features will work only if others use the Android Messaging app with certain network providers. Thanks for the response, Habsfan.

Okay. I'm assuming it will cost data usage now instead of free sms and mms? Plus, the videos in trying to send are 1 or 2 seconds long and they're useless to watch because of compression, in not trying to send a 60 second video here, should a 1 second video be bad too on mms?

So if i have unlimited free sms and mms, why can't it be 5mb or 10mb or something. Or why can't android make it like a zip file that auto compresses and uncompresses

Or send it in 1mb chunks that get pieced together at the other end. Back before they had "smart" phones that forced you to be on a data plan to send mms, videos went through fine.

Hi, MMS is a carrier feature and most carriers have an incredibly strict limit on the size of files that can be sent. If an image or video is too large, it is compressed automatically.
