My photos have disappeared.

Hello, i recently noticed i was very low on storage on my google photos account. I decided i dont really need google photos anyway (i never had it untill i got my newer phone). I deleted it off my phone just so it stops backing up my pics. After deletion i went to my samsung gallery and noticed a whole lot of recent photos are missing! Im very worried. I re-download google photos and i can see the pictures on google but not in my gallery! Has anyone ever had this problem?? Can someone help me? (Phone info: samsung S10)

Yes I no longer see all my pictures. What happened to them?

When I got my s23 I deleted the Google photos app

After an update to Google photos it recommended to clean up wasted space so I did and also lost all the gallery photos. I had to source them from a backup but now the dates are wrong. Ya its bs that they get deleted from Gallery also
