Notifications from my messages app continually turn back on after turning them off. I turn off notifications from my messages app, then shortly after the notification are 'allowed' again without me turning them back on. How can I stop this to permanently avoid getting notifications from my messaging app?

Galaxy SHi cbdoqpwtith,
Which messages app are you using? Have you tried to perform Clear cache for the messages app?
Please try to use Google Messages instead of preloaded Samsung Messages App.
Download from Google Play store: Google Messages and set as default and verify if your issue is solved.
Thank you.

Hi Helenna,
Thank you for your response. Google is a dangerous company, and I would prefer minimizing my interaction with their ecosystem. Is there any way I can avoid this issue whilst still continuing to use the default samsung messaging app? I have tried to clear the cache to no avail. Thank you.
