After the UI 7 update on the S24 Ultra, Android Auto will intermittently shutdown and not reconnect. Anyone have the same issue and is there a fix or temporary work around?

Update: after implementing all the recommendations suggested below by Helenna. Everything seemed to be working fine. But I am not using Waze right now and this issue started when I began using Waze for navigation. Will start using Waze and see what happens. Also noticed that Android auto doesn't recognize Spotify intermittently in start up. I have to disconnect and restart the infotainment system to see Spotify in the app folder or start Spotify on the phone and force it to connect. Anyone else notice Spotify not always starting up in Android auto?

Hi JurisD,

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing intermittent Android Auto disconnects on your Galaxy S24 Ultra after the update.

Please try the following steps:

  • Clear cache and data for both Android Auto and Google Play Services (Settings > Apps).

  • Ensure Android Auto and the Google app are fully updated via the Play Store.

  • Use a different high-quality USB cable, preferably USB-C to USB-C.

  • Disable Battery Optimization for Android Auto (Settings > Battery > Battery Usage > Android Auto > Optimize battery usage > Turn off).

  • Restart both your phone and your car’s infotainment system.

Additionally, please report this issue via Samsung Members and Google Feedback to help escalate a fix.

Let us know if you need further assistance!

Hi Helenna, thanks for the suggestions. I did implement all over the last few days since posting. Will update this chat after giving it some more time

Update 2: Started crashing again when I started using Waze. And then it stopped connecting altogether. Bought another high quality cable just in case but still no connection. Then saw a post on the Android Auto members forum. Tried it and seems to connect regularly now. Will post screenshot of recommendation

Android Auto Not Connecting After Latest Update (Galaxy S24 Ultra)

Hello Samsung Support,

I am facing a serious issue after the recent software update on my Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Android Auto connects only one time after I restart my car. After I turn off the car and start it again, Android Auto does not connect at all unless I reboot the car system again.

This problem started exactly after the latest update, and it has been happening for the last 4 weeks. I have tried everything:

Reset wireless Android Auto Deleted car and phone pairing Used different cables Cleared cache and data Turned off Adaptive Battery Set Android Auto to “Unrestricted” Turned on Google Location Accuracy

Still the issue is not fixed.
I also received one more update recently, but the problem continues.

Please confirm when Samsung will release a patch to fix this Android Auto connectivity problem. It is affecting my daily use.

Thank you.

The same happened to me again. The fix I posted above worked for a while but after the latest update it went back to repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting as I am driving or not connecting at all after disconnecting. I have spoken to my car manufacturer and it does not have a firmware upgrade. My spouse's iPhone connects and stays connected just fine
