How do I always get the Camera app to open with the Rear camera? Often I go to quickly take a picture of something, but find that it's in selfiemode because a certain someone 😉 used my phone to take some selfish. Often causes me to miss the moment that I wanted to capture.

I know that there is already the same topic, but there is no answer from Samsung for 4 years!

There's nothing in settings that I know of. You can select whether on restart of the app it stays in video mode, but there's no option for rear or front camera as the default on app start.

Check the Camera's settings here:

If you have this Toggled ON, and the "certain someone" was using your phone to take Selfies, then the phone will use the Front Facing Selfie Camera.

Toggle this Off, and the Camera will always start using the Back Camera in Photo Mode.

Simple Setting to set. Pretty sure that this setting, has been there for 4 years as well 😉

Only works with video to photo. Doesn't have an effect on which camera lens is used.

Nope. Doesn't switch back to the rear camera in Photo Mode. It will switch back to photo mode if you lady exited that camera app while in video mode (and vice versa).

Disabling that setting will not affect the the front/rear camera setting when you restart the app.  The setting helps to remember that last mode you were in when you closed the app and then restart it.

Thank you RedDogRabbit.

Hi, please try the steps provided above by RedDogRabbit and check whenever you open the Camera app on your device if it is opening with the Rear camera.

Do you know how to get a response about this topic?

No, this setting would not take effect, you can try it by yourself:)

Also there is a description that it handles only camera modes (video/photo), not rear/selfie camera.

Please, make a ticket about this problem, because in a thread below, you already ignored people with no answer for 4 years, even if people still write there time to time asking about any updates.

There is no such a problem on any other vendors.
