Does anyone have a practical solution to temporarily slow the battery drain experienced after the latest One UI 7 update. I understand there is a fix in the works from Samsung.

I saw similar concerns form other users my for you page...on YouTube, and there's a short video too to fix it. I didn't get to watch it but it's there, just write battery drainage after update and should show up!

Was informed at The Mobile Shop in 🇨🇦, backup data to Samsung ☁️, it's available for 30 days. Factory Reset then Restore. Have not done it myself yet, though it is what was suggested to me.

Hi KP-J,

We are sorry to hear this issue from you and we see that some users are experiencing faster battery drain after updating to One UI 7. Samsung is currently working on an optimization fix, but in the meantime, here are a few temporary steps you can take to help mitigate the issue:

Background App Management: Head to Settings > Battery > Background usage limits and enable options like “Put unused apps to sleep.” You can also manually add apps to the Deep sleep list.

Review Battery Usage: Check Settings > Battery > Usage since last full charge to see if any specific apps are draining more power than usual. Consider uninstalling or restricting those apps temporarily.

Limit Location and Scanning: Navigate to Settings > Location > Improve accuracy and turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning.

Always-On Display: If enabled, consider turning AOD off or changing it to Tap to show in Settings > Lock screen.

Use Power Saving Mode: Enable it under Settings > Battery, and customize what features you want to disable while it’s active.

Wipe Cache Partition: Wiping the cache partition clears out outdated system cache that can cause lag, battery drain, or app misbehavior—especially after major updates.

Turn off the phone.

Press and hold Volume Up + Power until the Samsung logo appears.

Release buttons when the Recovery Menu appears.

Use Volume Down to highlight Wipe cache partition, press Power to select.

Confirm by selecting Yes.

Once done, choose Reboot system now.

These steps should help extend battery life while we await an official update.

If you're seeing drastically reduced screen-on-time, please consider submitting an error report via Samsung Members > Support > Send feedback > Battery so our devs can gather more data.

Thank you.
