OnePlus has officially announced that they will develop Android P for the OnePlus 3 and 3T. For the record, the OP3 was launched in June 2016 with a Snapdragon 820 (like the USA S7) and Android Marshmallow.

So, knowing that OnePlus is a company with much less resources and considering the popularity of the S7, which is still the most popular Canadian Android device and the worldwide popularity of the device, to both of which the OnePlus 3 and 3T doesn't come anywhere near even combined, will Samsung reserve the same treatment to their last 16:9 masterpiece?

It's again considering the fact that OnePlus doesn't have something near Samsung's resources for supporting their devices that long. Also considering the S7's characteristics such as the higher price, a more powerful Exynos 8890, a gorgeous and higher resolution Super AMOLED screen, award winning camera, water resistance, just being a multi-award-winning phone, including "Best Mobile Phone of 2016" by the MWC... No reasons that a superior device gets lower support.

Even though I don't have S7 but I support your argument. Hope this will be reaching someone who can really do something about it.

Samsung needs to update their devices, especially flagship devices, for more than 2 Android Versions.
Doesn't matter if it's old, new, this and that, they need to put more effort on their highly priced flagships. The only reason people will leave Samsung and move to Apple or garage companies like One Plus, Xiaomi is because of their lack of software updates.

I have a Xiaomi Mi, which is half the spec and one/fifth the cost of S7 even S6. It's currently on Oreo, developers are now working with P beta and it'll get P.
It's unbelievable how behind Samsung software support is , even with all the money and resources in the world.

Which Mi phone is that? The Mi Mix 2S I presume? Or the A1?

It's Mi5. Mix 2s, A1 are new phones. it was released same time S7 was released, costs a fraction of S7.
Official Oreo 8.1 MIUI 10 released. But I had Oreo on it last years before even new S8 got it, with Resurrection Rom. Now they're working on Android P based OmniRom, meaning I'll have Android P on it before even S9/Note 9 will get it.
All happening on a 2016 phone.

And it's gonna get MIUI11 and maybe 12 looking at their history

For sure. And the MIUI devs are so good at copying all the features that when Google introduced PIP Mode with Oreo, they actually pushed it on MIUI 8.5.4 nougat build so their budget 3-4 year old low end devices like Redmis with no oreo guarantee still get oreo features! Samsung can't even get their expensive flagship updates right, let alone giving a single beep about countless different types of budget phones they release!
It's frustrating, and a big Samsung disappointment.

Yeah, they even stopped doing incremental upgrades which is very bad IMO (Tab S2 stuck on 7.0, lowly Tab E and A 8.0 2015 are on 7.1.1!!!)

But for now let's just focus on Android P. They really gotta make it available on the S7

Not only they stopped doing incremental upgrades recently, they are also now locking the bootloader in North American devices which they didn't do before. So they'll completely decide when to kill the device, and also makes sure you can't revive it with any 3rd party rom. They're blaming carriers to avoid responsibility, while we clearly know Samsung is the one bowing down to them even though they don't have to. Why bother standing up for consumer freedom.

Yeah I'll be waiting to see if P arrives on S7, it's due time Samsung starts thinking about their long time consumers.

Plus, according to DeviceAtlas, the S7 is the only Android phone to reach the top 5 of the most popular Canadian smartphones. It is thus critical to build on this popularity to sustain and gain market.
