Does my phone use allowed (not restricted) WIFI networks automatically and preferentially when I am say, at home and I have both turned on or, must I actually turn mobile data off yo be sure it is not used when I have access to wifi? (I have the data boost feature 'off' as well). Thx.
Yes it will definitely use Wifi if both Wifi (connected to network) and mobile data are on. You do not need to turn mobile data off every time you are connected to Wifi to make sure it uses Wifi, it just will. Just make sure "Switch to mobile data" is set to off in your Wifi advanced settings.
In your advanced settings the 2nd one down "Turn On Wi-Fi Automatically" needs to be On!!! this will switch to Wi-Fi if the signal is good...... Also just above is Switch to mobile data.... this allows your device to use data if Wi-Fi is out of range or week signal... make sure this is on also.
When WIFI is connected, it will always use WiFi regardless Mobile Data is on or not. When no wifi is connected, it'll use Mobile Data. I don't remember last time I turned off my data when on Wifi. Because if wifi goes out, it'll seamlessly switch to data.
Nope not at all. @Tallman. So it cuts of data altogether automatically when you're connected to WiFi, when you're not connected it switches on Data. It's basically what you would do manually, happening automatically.
