Hello, Pulse oximetry was once a feature available on my Galaxy Smart phone through the S Health App.
I notice this feature is no longer available, and the phone will only detect heart rate. Where has this feature gone?
I am an Emergency Room provider and this feature would be of amazing benefit to Covid-19 patients we are discharging home.
Is this feature buried in some menu now, I can not find this feature in any third party app either.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

I agree this has to be brought to the attention of Samsung. In this pandemic crisis we need all the tools we can get to combat it. Samsung needs to act responsibly and ethically to the community in need especially now.

And don't give the BS to get a smart watch for devices that are equipped with it. People are facing dire financial situations with businesses grinding to a halt.

@mytech my device doesn't matter. this is for patients when they go home. they are to check their oxygen saturation on their personal smartphone. if it is low - they would be instructed to return to hospital

First I/we thank you for sharing information and enlightening us 👍
Iknow its not your job but I was thinking if you had a compatable device and knew which are compatable, you could set this up in a mere 30 seconds 🤷for yourself and others, geez if I was sick and you said gimmie your phone I'll put an app on to help save you, I would literally throw my phone @you and say DO IT! 🤣

When I open my Samsung Health app and go down to Stress, the reading is in there.  It was never a separate feature on my phone at least. I have an Note 8. When I open the stress portion and put my finger on the sensor a reading pops up for both heart rate and oxygen saturation.

Edit: Just saw the response that is no longer in Canada due to regulations. That's a shame. I've read a study indicating that there is no statistical difference between the phone and hospital grade pulse ox readings, (children population ). I have also compared it against hospital grade ones myself. I guess they are just being super cautious
