everytime i use tue finder search bar, ass soon as i type a letter into the box an error pops up "finder has stopped working" did a complete reset of phone. it was working for about 2 minutes than the error started again.

any ideas how to fix this? i tryed clearing system cache files aswell befor the reset. did nothing.

is this an error with the finder latest version? a bug? or what

I would try to clear your device cache. this can be done from Android diagnostic menu. what you want to do is power off your phone. then hold volume down Bixby button and power button. as soon as you see Samsung logo release power but still hold onto Bixby and volume down. Wipe data and cache let your device restart and try it again :)

so i messaged a friend, also has the s8 , his finder also crashes and says stopped working. only when letter b is pressed first. how do i report to samsung as a bug?

does this happen to anyone else ? type letter b into the phone search bar and see what happens.

i tried clearing cache, factory resetting the phone seems to make it work for about an hour. than it does it again.

but my friend has same issue. must be a bug in the software

this is still happening even after a factory reset??
hmm, then I would visit a Samsung Service Center right away

yes, it works for about an hour, as i said its only when letter " b " in inputted to the search bar first. says finder has stopped working. friends having same issue aswell so its not just my device.

Hey @ktelz! Would you be able to do the followings for us to help diagnose?
1. Could you please attach a screenshot of the error message you receive if possible?
2. Could you send an error report by the following steps?
tap three dots (on the top right corner) inside finder > tap on "Contact us" to send us an error report with an error log attached if possible?
If you cannot access to "Contact us" from finder, you can also contact us through Samsung Members app. Tap the “Feedback” icon in the Samsung Members app, then tap the Pen icon and then submit an “Error report”. Thanks!

ive reported it to samsung they looked at it, my friends are having same issue aswell.
