Are there any restrictions related to the environment in which both devices should remain in order to work ?

Assuming those devices work properly in Canada, via Bell and Rogers, will they still work when one of them is traveling overseas while being connected to internet through a third-party provider ?

Thanks

No, both devices have to be in the same country or region to work. So it will not be possible if you are overseas with one device, and the other is still in Canada.

Could you please point me to Samsung's instructions that confirm such a restriction ?

I can't find anything about geographical or regional limitations. All I could find mentions that the devices should share the same Samsung account, which makes sense.

Thanks

Thanks,

I had not seen this.

I will have to test it and get the proof.

Well what I said, is exactly what Samsung's own Website says, but test away.

Hi, as informed by the RedDogRabbit, this feature can only be used when the device is in the same country or region.

I am so pleased to prove your statements wrong.

And yes, I was able to test this feature while traveling to Europe.
It DOES work very well, both voice and SMS, with and without using a VPN.
The phone remained on in Canada during the duration of the trip.
It worked well in 4 countries.

It turns out to be a useful feature, especially to avoid a roaming that may be too costly.

Congratulations, but you aren't proving any of my statements wrong. I only passed on the information from Samsung's own site.

According to Samsung, it is not possible.

I meant Samsung's, of course.
Sorry for being confusing.

It does work.
But it could easily stop if Samsung decided to.

I hope they realise the value it may have.
