Hi NextCola,

We understand you're using a Galaxy S22 Ultra (model SM-S908U) purchased from Amazon in the U.S., and you're currently in Canada using Rogers, while your wife's Canadian S22 has already received the One UI 6.1 update.

The reason you're not seeing the update yet is due to your device model. The device is a U.S. carrier variant, and software updates for that model are controlled by the original U.S. carrier. This means it won't follow Rogers' update schedule, even if you're using a Canadian SIM.

If you're looking for consistent updates on the Canadian schedule, we recommend purchasing Canadian models in the future.

Thank you.

As far as I'm aware, your best option would be to buy a super cheap eSIM from an American carrier. That way, the update should be pushed to your device. Alternatively, you could flash the newest updates using ADB, but I personally wouldn't recommend it unless you're willing to do some research and experimenting.

the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra model number SM-S908U is not a US version. It is an unlocked version, often referred to as a "global" or "international" version, designed to work with GSM carriers worldwide. This means it is not tied to a specific carrier and can be used with various GSM carriers in US.

meaning it isn't tied to any network therefore its Samsung's responsibility to push the updates.

No, it is ABSOLUTELY 100% a US version!

You could try using Smart Switch to Download the One UI V7.0 update once it's available (I believe that it is already available in the US), or you could download the CORRECT version of the latest firmware to your computer & Flash it with Odin.

“U” is for the USA, but unlocked Galaxy devices in the United States get an extra character — “U1.”

You have the AT&T version.. as is clearly seen in the model number of your device. SM-S908UZGFATT

thanks for the info.

I've seen online how to put a Canadian firmware on it and once that's done I'll always get updates once I change the CSC Canadian?

Yes, you can use Patched Odin to Flash the Canadian Firmware, (regular Odin will fail), and Flash the Canadian CSC, and you should get the OTAs from Canada.
