If you haven't already, Booting into Recovery & Wiping Cache can help.
Check the amount of Storage Space USED vs Free storage. If for example you have used something like 80% or more, then that would certainly cause the device to slow down.
Uninstalling unused apps can help, as well as using an app like SD Maid SE* to clear out Duplicates.
* You need to use Shizuku with Wireless Debugging, to enable SD Maid fully.

Galaxy SHi, I request you to please follow the below steps once and check again.
Here is the path: Power the device off.
Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power key.
Navigate with the Volume keys to the wipe cache partition option and press the Power key to select.
Performing a wipe cache partition removes any temporary files that may be causing an issue with the device.
