I noticed my s23 ultra battery drains drastically faster after the February update. I used to get pretty good battery life and was really happy with my phone, but as soon as I did February update, the battery life is terrible. I used to end my shift with around 25 percent of battery left but now I have to charge again halfway my shift. Really disappointed with Samsung. I've been a Samsung supporter from a long time and gave them lots of chances. I even made all of my friends choose Samsung but I might never return to Samsung if they don't fix this issue by next update. I'd like to hear your views about s23 ultra after the update

Hi, we are sorry to hear that the software update caused the battery draining issue.

Please Go to Settings > Battery > Scroll down to see which apps in Battery Activity are draining your battery.

Put those unused apps to sleep, and Restrict or Optimize the ones that are draining it.

Also, we recommend you to perform Wipe cache partition on your device after the update. This will not erase personal data on the phone. It deletes temporary cache files in the phone.

Turn off the device > Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power Key > When the Android logo displays, release all keys.(("Installing system update" is displayed before displaying the Android system recovery menu options) > Press the Volume down key several times to highlight “wipe cache partition.” > Press the Power key to select > Press the Volume down key to highlight > “yes” and press the Power key to select. When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.

Press the Power key to restart the device.

I had done everything you said except wipe cache partition. After reading your advice, I just did wipe cache partition, and I hope my phone is going to be just the way it was.
Thanks for the response. I really appreciate it.

Update: After doikg the Wipe cache partition, the battery life has become a lot better. Thanks helenna for the tip. I was wondering if I'm supposed to do Wipe cache partition after every update?

I Wipe Cache after every single OTA, and Factory Reset after EVERY Android Version Update.

I've never had any issues following this process.

~ 6 hours of SOT & 26 hours, 18 minutes on battery with 8 hours 17 minutes remaining on my S23 Ultra February Security Patch.

I'd suggest that follow Helenna's suggestion of Wiping Cache, along with verifying what apps are using the battery. Check especially apps that are running "Unrestricted".

I haven't noticed any negative difference since the February Security Patch.

Anything else changed, ie: New apps etc?

No, everything is optimized like Samsung recommends. The irony is my phone usage is far less than before, but the battery drain is higher. I've noticed some other users on X pointing out the same issue after I went there researching the issue.
