Galaxy SHeya Folks,
My S23 Ultra, bought in Jan 2024, got bricked in Apr 2025.
Full story: Phone was working fine and was having around 26-27% battery. I plugged it on charge, it started charging. I went on to do some work. Came back after around 25-30mins. Double tapped the screen, it didn't work (I would check the current battery % like this generally). Pressed power button, no response. Thought somehow it got powered off, tried long pressing power button and it didn't work. Pressed and held for 20-30 secs, no response. Came home, referred some articles, and tried volume down button with power button for 30-40 secs, but no response. I'm frustrated, this is so weird. How can a device simply get bricked while being on charge???
Please suggest something what can be done. It happened on Saturday night, all shops service centers are closed on Sunday here, stuck for whole 2d. Somehow managing with a spare Samsung A21.

Galaxy SIf you plug it in to the charger, do you see anything on the screen?
It's virtually impossible to to act "brick" a Samsung device. There's a protected partition, that should always let you Boot into Download Mode.
Several years ago, when testing Roms for a Developer, I had Booted a Samsung that didn't have the Operating System installed.. But I was able to Boot into Download Mode & Flash the Firmware with Odin.
My first thought is that the battery on your device is dead.

Galaxy SHi vikramsg,
We are sorry to hear this issue from you and certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have your device become unresponsive so suddenly, especially while it was charging and appeared to be functioning normally just prior.
When you plug in the charger, do you see any indication on screen (charging icon, dim backlight, etc.)?
Have you tried using a wireless charger or connecting to a PC to see if there's any sign of life?
If you try Volume Down + Power for 30 seconds while plugged in, do you feel any vibration or response?
If none of the above work, we strongly recommend visiting a Samsung Authorized Service Center when available. To know the nearest Samsung Authorized service center please visit the link given below.

Galaxy SHi folks, so here's the update and current status of this device.
I went to the service center they told that mother board is shorted and when I asked them how come it got shorted even if I was not using, and it was simply getting charged when battery was around 25-30%, in and AC room, means no overheating, also it was kept aside, I was mot using it. They asked maybe you charge your phone for overnight (I've never, but should flagship phones like have any issue because of that?) They asked many other silly questions which would never impact a flagship phone. They quoted around 37000 INR ~ 450 USD for mother board change, which was too much. I got it checked from local shop they told they can repair MB for 8000 INR ~ 100 USD. Anyway I'll get my data, and will discard this and sell it off.
Very bad experience with Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra device.
