Hello everyone, I went to San Jose California USA 2 weeks ago, and I bought my S24 Ultra when it released on January 31st 2024. Then I came back to Canada. Everything was going well, until I start adding my credit cards on Samsung wallet (I used to use the same credit cards on my old S23 Ultra).

Anyway, while entering my card information, it ask me to enter my zip code, then automatically it open up the number keywords. But In Canada, the zip code are mixed letters and numbers, so I couldn't add my zip code that associated with my credit card. (No option to enter any letters)

Then, I contact Samsung canada customer service, she said that Samsung USA phones not compatible with Canada and I need to return my phone and buy a new phone that compatible with canada !!!!!!!

I said, that doesn't make sense. What if i travel to a new country next month, should I buy a new phone in every country!!! She didn't give me a solution.

I tried to enter a random numbers as a zip code, but it got reject because I have to enter the zip code that is associated with my credit card. (That mixed letters and numbers)

Long story short, I want to be able to enter mixed letters and numbers in my zip code section, so I can add my credit card to my Samsung wallet.

Here is a video attached and some screenshot from the chat with Samsung canada customer service.

Very simple issue, and very simple solution I guess, but they ask me to pay few hundreds dollars to ship my phone back to USA and buy new canada phone. What a joke in 2024.

I think you need a Canadian model to use credit cards from Canadian banks.

This is the problem... What if you travel from country to another country??? You will need to buy a phone for each country???

So they should announce that Samsung is local used only.

People have credit cards from different countries or people who travel alot will face same problem

I have a Galaxy S23 Ultra and, mine works even with my US Settings enabled because I am from there but live in Canada. I think it's really dumb to offer no solution when they work for the company and that is their job.

Samsung Pay is region locked. It's always been like that and I highly doubt they will change that model.

There might be a couple things you could do that might get it to work.

First is to change the CSC for your phone. Fairly easy to do.

Second is to flash the Canadian firmware fire your phone. Not too difficult to do.

When they ask for the postal code, have you tried entering a bogus number like all zeros? I remember having issues with credit cards on US gas station pumps and something like that worked.

Are you using Canadian Samsung account on s24? Go to Samsung account on s24 - profile info - country.

Yes, Samsung account says in canada.... even the Samsung customer service confirmed the issue. So it has nothing to do with my account. It is Samsung themselves

I am afraid if un-installed the wallet app, I will lose all of my saved passwords (over 70 apps and websites saved information on the app).
The customer service of Samsung canada confirmed that too.
