Hello everyone, I went to San Jose California USA 2 weeks ago, and I bought my S24 Ultra when it released on January 31st 2024. Then I came back to Canada. Everything was going well, until I start adding my credit cards on Samsung wallet (I used to use the same credit cards on my old S23 Ultra).

Anyway, while entering my card information, it ask me to enter my zip code, then automatically it open up the number keywords. But In Canada, the zip code are mixed letters and numbers, so I couldn't add my zip code that associated with my credit card. (No option to enter any letters)

Then, I contact Samsung canada customer service, she said that Samsung USA phones not compatible with Canada and I need to return my phone and buy a new phone that compatible with canada !!!!!!!

I said, that doesn't make sense. What if i travel to a new country next month, should I buy a new phone in every country!!! She didn't give me a solution.

I tried to enter a random numbers as a zip code, but it got reject because I have to enter the zip code that is associated with my credit card. (That mixed letters and numbers)

Long story short, I want to be able to enter mixed letters and numbers in my zip code section, so I can add my credit card to my Samsung wallet.

Here is a video attached and some screenshot from the chat with Samsung canada customer service.

Very simple issue, and very simple solution I guess, but they ask me to pay few hundreds dollars to ship my phone back to USA and buy new canada phone. What a joke in 2024.

To be honest, I have no idea what you're talking about at all 😂

What is the connection between my Samsung wallet and gas pumps 😆

I thought you wants me to enter the postal code of a gas station in California or something? Right?

Yeah, the number keybad allowed me to enter random numbers. But i needed to enter letters so it can match my postsl code in canada that match my credit card postal code.

I can add letters only on phones that made for canada. US phones doesn't allow letters, only numbers.

Gas stations in canda also has letters in their postal code.

Thanks for your help 👍 🙂 🙏

You need to flash the Canadian firmware on it or it won't work. Phones from USA only support the USA versions of some apps, and it's depending on firmware. Also, you may not get wifi calling working with a USA model in Canada depending on your carrier as some are region IMEI locked.

It ***, but it is what it is and one of the reasons I always make sure to get a Canadian model phone now.

Unfortunately true 👍, I didn't know that when I bought the phone. I was in San Jose California at the release day, and I was excited to buy it.

Thanks for your feedback 🙏🙌

best solution is to sell it and buy a canadian model instead if you will live in canada.

Just an update ( on February 21st 2024). I contact Samsung canada customer service agent again, and they asked me to try to contact samsung USA customer service, so I had a chat with them, but no solution too. They asked my to buy a new phone in canada.... I asked for an email to reach out samsung headquarters office or something, he told me that the best way is to write my problems here on the samsung community app, and maybe some developer can assist me. ..... i will wait then ........... 1708579409684.jpg

Hi Ahmed_Nasr, we understand your frustration and we apologize for the inconvenience you are facing.

The Samsung Members Community in Canada received multiple inquiries regarding Samsung Pay/Wallet incompatibility due to the device being a non-Canadian model.

Unfortunately, Samsung Pay/Wallet may be locked to a certain country or region, depending on where you bought the device, which hardware specification your device has, or the bank of your card.

Therefore, if your device is not a Canadian model, it is usually not possible to use Samsung Pay/Wallet in Canada, as explained by other Members in this thread. Vice versa, if you have a Canadian model device, you may not be able to use it in other countries/regions.

However, please rest assured that we have communicated Members' suggestions related to Samsung Pay/Wallet to the relevant team. While we can't guarantee it from our end, we hope that the changes will be made available in the future. Thank you for your understanding.
