Hello,

I pre purchased the S25 Ultra base model and have been loving it so far. The one MAJOR complaint I have is with the new February OS update. The native Samsung camera app is great when taking pictures. However, the video recordings are terrible. Most videos come out extremely dark when trying to record videos. As an example, It's almost as though the phones display goes completely dark. As in the brightness goes completely down. But it doesn't. It's the cameras software when using video mode that makes all videos extremely dark.

I've read a few complaints online about this exact issue and I'm experiencing the issues as well. Please investigate this particular issue and address in your next software update.

This bug unfortunately ruined a family get away weekend trying to record videos of my family and my 2 year old son. I've attached a video of the issue occuring. This happened to all my videos.

Second issue. Since updating to OneUI7 February update, charging my phone now causes it to heat up which wasnt an issue prior to the update. This is intermittent but does happen frequently. I've restarted the phone a few times as well as powered it off completely over night. Issue persists.

 Thanks.

Posts disappearing is common on this forum.

And as I replied in your previous post, I too found that some video mode recordings can be too dark.

Hey @RobertZ, thanks for the post. I'm new to Samsung members app. I didnt know it was a thing for posts to randomly disappear.

They don't disappear randomly - they get deleted.

As for video, in a low light situation switching from 30fps to 60fps causes the video to be a lot darker. Doesn't matter if it's FHD or UHD.

Did you shoot this in an automated mode? Or a pro mode?

Winter scenes are notoriously difficult for photographers. This because the frame is full of bright white. The processor is lowering the exposure in attempt to allow you to see detail in the snow. The assumption is that if 90% of what fills your frame is white, that your intention is to capture a mostly white photo, thus lower the exposure sufficient to capture detail in white. Your subject matter ends up entirely underexposed. If you expose for the subject matter, the whites in the back and foreground will be entirely over exposed or 'blown out' .

It would be nice if the AI was better tuned for this. That is, recognizing what you are trying to achieve.

In the meantime, the basic video shooter has an exposure slider, and in situations like this, you are best to increase the exposure slider.

Hey @Fatwa, thanks for the info. I'm just using the "out of the box settings". I'm not a pro photographer by any means. Just a regular guy trying to take great pictures and videos of family outings using what hopefully is a great product. High expectations on my part for this S25U phone.
