after upgrading to Nougat video streaming of various sites are not working anymore in Mobile Data mode but they work fine on WiFi:

www.crictime.com
mobilecric.com

Any ideas?

check your settings for roaming ie is your data saver on or off???

data saver is turned off...and I'm not roaming I am in my regular data zone.

it still works fine on phones (s5) with earlier android...

Sorry I can't help as at 1st thought it was the site too much high end video but if the site work on a earlier phone then that's not it...

Legalities of these websites aside, I'm not entirely sure of what web standard those websites use to stream these videos. By default nougat has native support for H.264/MP4, WebM and Ogg /theora video formats. Certain apps from the google play store provide added functionality for video streaming. What I suspect happened was upgrading to nougat changed a setting in one of the third party apps thats used to read that proprietary video format and its preventing you from viewing these websites on a mobile data connection

but as I mentioned those sites still work via WiFi...just not thru Mobile Network.

Yup, so those sites dont seem to work for me. I suspect that its a third party app thats allowing you to watch webcontent through them and that third party app is restricting video over a mobile data connection but doesnt restrict over wifi

I was and am using either chrome or Samsung's browser. but since this problem has started I've tried opera and dolphin without any luck.
