Even the outdated S7 is getting more monthly security updates than my S9 plus. Sad😥

There is issue with S9 update. That's why they delayed it.

I wish they could at least give security update while they wait to fix camera or whatever feature they can't get to work

Well - S7/S7e is now getting quarterly updates... fwiw & S9 series in the US is up to date on the April Security Patch 🐧
