Camera app:
"Photo" mode is missing the Video record button. It used to be on the left hand side of the shutter button. Now I have to swipe right, experience a 1 second lag to refocus then take a video. The video taking moment is already gone by then. Looks like Samsung is trying to copy iPhone camera? Please don't, I bought an S9 to avoid certain iPhone features.

Bixby button:
Where is the option to disable it? Long hold will bring it up -- I dislike any type of voice control causing accidental phone "turn ons". This option used to be available on the previous android update. It's missing now.

Edit> If anyone has good suggestion for alternate camera app which has similiar UI interface to android 8.0, please suggest. Willing to ditch the stock samsung camera app now.

Don't really care about any changes to the Video Camera but you could try the Google Camera (search for it as it's been previously posted & may be more to your liking) You can disable Bixby with bxActions or adb commands - As has been previously posted numerous times.

Thanks.

Looks like I can't officially download Google Camera straight from the play store, but I will give it a try since I use that video record feature on a daily basis -- it's worth the effort. Too bad Samsung is copying the crap features of iPhone.

Bixby can be disabled in the previous stock OS, this feature seems to be missing in the new version.

Here is the link that I posted a few days ago for the Gcam - it's confirmed working on S9+ running One UI & I believe that @CHMultimedia confirm that it's also working on Note9 running One UI.

bxActions from the Play Store works for me to Display & Remap the Bixby button - Requires adb 🐧

Yup I can indeed confirm that GCAM works on my Pie Note9.

Though you COULD take the Oreo's Camera APK, clone it and install it. That will normally circumvent the sideload block Samsung added on Oreo

Looks like the google camera has the same "problem" where I have to swipe to go into video mode to record. So it's likely a google stock camera feature than samsung trying to layering on their changes -- meaning that we're likely never going to have that feature back in the S9. Disappointed :*(

Thanks for your help though!

Use BX Actions and remap it to something you want. Buy the developer coffee and use it for several options along with the volume rocker.

The removal of the video functionality is a disgrace. The deciding factor to buy the S9 over other cameras was its video capability. Now we're left with a crap video recorder no better than my old S5.

The new P30 Pro seems to have a video button in pro mode. Can anyone confirm?
