Samsung Calendar is not backing up my calendar and never has.

I have always just thought it wasnt able to backup the calendar as it has done it for years and across 3 different Samsung phones, but when i look online ii can see that other people have had their calendar backued up during a full phone backup where as i never have.
Any idea  as to why? is there too much data in the calendar? Permission somewhere that i have yet to find? Something else?

I found an old post about it but that wasnt much use but shows that i am not the only person with this issue , it always comes under the section that says "Following items that cant be backed up" 
Any help on this would be appreicated as its a bit of an inconvenience

Samsung Calendar data can not be backed up, not with Smart Switch at least. It says that when you make the selection of what you want backed up. 

I use Google Calendar, which is Synced with my Google account, so I never need to back it up. To me that's a far better option.
