One UI 7 update is terrible. How can a smartphone company so big with all these sales be this poorly managed and awful?!

The update looks trash. I preferred how my phone looked previously. The notifications look awful, the freakin search bar is on the bottom now, they've copied iOS on so many things such as the stupid now bar and they've done a terrible job at it. Like why do you have to copy iOS when you do such a bad job at it anyways Samsung?? It used to be the opposite. Oh and don't get me started on the battery. My phone drains twice as fast after the update somehow.

But I have a question from all of us. Why do we keep purchasing Samsung smartphones? This is all our fault. Ofc Samsung will not try to make any good changes when their products are selling at a decent pace. It is time for us to stop buying Samsung. Idc how much stupid discounts they throw at their phones. Enough is enough. I am no longer purchasing a Samsung phone. Look into other companies they all offer great phones: OnePlus, Xiaomi, Google.

Hi parsicko,

We’re sorry to hear that your experience with the One UI 7 update has been disappointing.

Software updates can bring significant changes to both design and performance, and we understand that not every change works well for every user.

Please know that all user feedback is shared with the relevant teams at Samsung. Constructive input like yours plays an important role in helping improve future updates and shaping the direction of One UI.

We appreciate your passion and thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hi Helena,

I hope there's an efficient and effective way to communicate with other teams, to the backlash and discourse for this update, specifically in regarding the battery drain issue. I'm also not a big fan of some the aesthetic changes, but at least there are ways to change it back or not too different, in when we can't. Plus, design can be subjective.

But the battery drain issue is hands-down one of the bigger blunders, in recent memory.

Please push this battery drain narrative with the higher ups.

Thank you.

I love how there are two predominant group here. Those that are unbelievable impatient for relatively small updates and those that are intolerant of any changes to their phone.

Changes are ok, not when they are forced. I understand wanting to give us options they consider better in some way but not giving us the choice to either pick what's new or what we were used to is what leads to unhappy users. I came to terms with the previous update but this one has a few things I really can't find a logical reason, much less when it's about the user's preferences.

What can't you change? Show me on the doll where Samsung hurt you?

1) Search bar moved to the bottom of apps drawer.
2) Can only see three app icons or notifications at any one time until a small dot is shown to indicate that there are more app notifications, necessitating the need to swipe down to see the other app notifications when there is enough room on the top taskbar to display more than three app icons.
3) Mandatory pinned tiles like Nearby Devices when fully swiping down without the ability to customize fully the layout for a minimalistic setup or custom setup.

That's just off the top of my head, but I've received way more complaints on YouTube videos than that.

If you're happy with the changes and unbothered, great. However, there are many users who have built up muscle memory from performing the same actions thousands of times and have become quite efficient at how they operate and navigate around the phones, so to have changes pushed without options to customize how they use the phone is inconsiderate.

Sure Samsung can implement changes since some people will like them, but even when software companies implement changes, there's an option to go back to a legacy interface or classic interface because it suits the workflow for that user. We're talking about lines of code that existed before and could still be retained in future updates to allow users to set their preferred UI layout.

This is nothing new with Samsung. Every year they disappoint us more than before. Its terrible. This company (at least its smartphone dept.) is very poorly managed. Coming up with unnecessary or poor features that usually that either no one asked for or they copied it off iOS and did a terrible job. Samsung just needs to start fresh, get rid of all the bs

Samsung is so down bad that they copy Apple. Their glory days was when it was the opposite. Now they copy apple with hopes apple customers will join Samsung but that aint happening 😂🔥
And who are you again? You sound like a puppet
