Samsung email doesn't show notifications anymore

This problem is now on going for several months. All of a sudden it stops showing new email notifications. Everything is switched on and also under New emails, it shows pop-up is allowed.

Every time I delete the app and install it, it works for a month or so and then the same problem occurs. It worked perfectly fine yesterday, this morning it has stopped and also stopped working on my Samsung tablet.

It is driving me around the twist to be honest as I've deleted and installed the app 5 times now and I am fed up with it as it loses the auto-fill for the contacts I use.

Is there any logical explanation for this?

Thank you.

If as you say, all the settings are correct, then it sounds like the most likely cause is a 3rd party app.

You can try Booting into Recovery & Wipe Cache, but..

I know that I've never experienced the issue that you describe.

I'm using the Samsung email app so not a 3rd party app.

I'm totally at loss here. I have gone through most of the similar issues on this forum, checked all the settings and as far as I can see, all the settings are correct.

Email is set to sync all the time.

Notifications all 3 boxes are set to allowed, lockscreen, badge, pop-up. Under Notifications categories, New emails are set to show as pop-up and app icon badges with sound.

The strange thing is that this is now the 5th time and every time I delete the app, restart my phone and re-install it, it works for a little while and then it happens again.

To add, the email is there but I have to go into the email app to get it and then it will load. It's not there when I open the app but then checks for new emails and loads it.

I'm having the same issue everytime I renew my Samsung phone. I have the S25 Ultra now and I'm having the same issues on both the Gmail and Samsung email app. I don't receive any email notifications , only when I go into the actual app then the emails come through. So annoying!!! Why can't they come up with a solution so we don't have to figure this out everytime?

Can anyone help me figure this out on the new Samsung S25 Ultra? I've tried and googled every possible solution and nothing works!

Hi, we are sorry to hear about this issue from you.

Please try the following:

Open Email App→ click 3 bars on top left→ click settings icon→ Notifications→ New emails.

Enable Show as pop up.

This will resolve your issue. Hope this help.

Apologies for the late reply. I had it set to email me when someone replied but that obviously doesn't work.

Unfortunately the solution you offer is something that I have already done so that's not the issue. I went through a previous message from someone with the same problem and followed all those steps.

As a matter of fact, it's stopped notifying again. I have cleared the data and cache, and then it works again for a few days and now it's stopped the notifications again.

I can not understand what's going on because every time I clear the cache and data, it works ok or I delete the entire app and re-install it, and it works. It's driving me absolutely mad because I can't trust the app anymore to notify me.

When I just clicked on the email, 3 new emails were there but I never got a notification.

I'd be so grateful if someone could figure out what on earth is going on. Is it a conflict of a 3rd app?

Thanks so much.

Hi I've just set up a new s24 and the notifications options are massively reduced and I can't figure out how to change the tone of emails or get them to pop up. I have everything selected but it's just not working.

Believe it or not but I'm still having the same problems. Every 2 weeks I have to delete the Samsung email app by deleting data and then set it up again. I have no clue why it is happening. It doesn't happen on my tablet. Are you any the wiser what it could be? Thanks.
