Hello

I recently upgraded two phone, both my and my wife's to Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and after few weeks of using them, and now after few days (sometimes few hours) of using the phone it disconnects installed 256Gb Sundisk SD card. Happening on the both phones. One has brand new card and one 1 year old card. So I have to reboot the phones or reinsert the card to fix the issue. I called samsung support and they said that they never heard about it. I have two of Galaxy S20 FE (my and my wife's) and both have same issues. My have more often than my wife's. It could be some app I installed on both phones that doing it ? How can I check and figure out what costing it without resetting the phone to factory settings ? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

I may be wrong, but I don't think there is an app that would cause an issue with the SD card. Try turning the phone off, ejecting the SD card, reinsert the card turn the phone back on. Did you format the SD card after reinserting it into the phone? Because, if the card is not formatted, the phone may not recognize it or the card has a manufacturers defect which may also be the cause of the disconnections.

No. None of the cards are formatted. One card (in my phone is a year old and it was in my old Galaxy S9 with no issues. I keep all my photos on it and also all lego kids games transferred to it as well as any .apk files that I may need to install from. My wife's is brand new but I copied data (photos mostly) from her old card to this one. She has same stuff as me on her card. This why I think it could be issue with some applications I installed on both phone or software upgrade issue ? She had 128mb before in her galaxy s9 which not in my son's A51 without any issues.

Is it the same SD card that you tried on both phones or were there 2 separate SD cards, one in each phone?
one possibility to rule out the card (or phone) is to try insert another SD card that you have or can borrow.
I'm using an SD card on my S20 FE with no issue so far

I'll need to transfer everything from my old one to new one

Hi, surprisingly no sd card error. it just disconect sd card. the only way I know is that I have some kid's games that due to large size I transfered to sd. and when I try to execute them the icon shows as missing app. and after when I check file manager I see no sd card shown. once I had that message. but only one time from about 10 times it is disconnected now

hello. expert here. reseat sd card. also, try inserting card inside computer and copy biiig files to see if disconnection during computer transfer. if yes, card is faulty. if not, card must be reseated or tray must be replaced. hope it helps. mark as solution if so.

Hello

I just copied everything from this card (over 100gb of data) to my computer via computer SD slot with no issues. How do I reseat the SD card in this phone (or in general)? And how and where I can replace the tray ? Keep in mind I'm trying to avoid resetting this phone to factory settings.

Thanks

Paul
