Ever since I upgraded to the S10e, my messages app has not worked properly. I have jigged all the settings I can find, yet I cannot get the name of my contact to show up in notifications for messages!
I've changed all the settings I could, yet whenever I get a message, the notification comes up as "New Message" and doesn't say who the message is from NOR does it include a message preview, which I have turned on.
Settings - Apps - Scroll down to Samsung Messages (if you are using a different messaging app - Scroll to that app) Permissions & verify that it has your Contacts Permission 🐧
