Group messages showing as individuals S24 Ultra

New S24 Ultra. Group messages are coming in as individuals. Settings are set to groups in MMS settings. Using Samsung messages app as my default. Should I switch to the Google message app?

It's been recommended by Samsung's Moderators even, to switch to Google Messages. 

That's what I've always used.

Not really. All I did was switch to a different app. The one in question doesn't work properly. I prefer the other one. Thanks for not resolving.

The same issue just started on my S24+, using samsung messages. It is showing my incoming group texts individually and I have to download them. As I download each one, they then appear in the original group. This issue just began this past week. I have samsung messages as my default text app. Google messages in also on my phone but never activated. What has changed and how can I fix this? Thanks

I'd just switch to Google Messages, see if you still have the issue. 

I've never used (I've tried it) Samsung Messages.. but I've never had trouble with Google Messages, and Samsung's Moderators will tell you to switch as well.

Thanks, it may come to that. However, something must have very recently changed as it allowed me to select ss messages when I set up the phone 2 months ago; and everything continued to work fine. Would be nice if SS would come out & admit they quit using ss msgs & we now have to use google msgs. How do I even switch over at this point? Will I lose all my text msgs? Thanks

I got mine resolved. I just initiated the group chat that was coming in as individuals, and it fixed itself. So, when you reply, just make a new message with all the people from that conversation. After that, they came in as the group, and I could see the conversation string. Ever since I did that, all my group messages (different than the one I had issues with) have worked perfectly. Also, make sure you have your settings correct. In messages, go to settings, more settings, tap multi media, and make sure the group is turned on. See below:

Another note. If you did switch to the googe message app, it transfers the old conversations.
