Galaxy SDid you check the permissions for Snapchat?
Settings > Apps > Snapchat > Permissions. Does it have Microphone & Camera Permissions?
Doesn't sound like it.

Galaxy SDid you try Clearing BOTH Cache & Data for Snapchat & Reboot?
You can also open the Samsung Members app & Click on Support & Phone Diagnostics, run the Diagnostics for the Microphone. See if you get any error messages.
I'm part of a couple of other large Samsung communities, and while I don't use Snapchat, I know lots of people who do. I haven't heard anyone else comment with the issues you are experiencing.
I think that it's unlikely, that you spoke to the actual developers at either Samsung or Snapchat, likely just some tech support individuals.

Galaxy SHi, please try the steps by RedDogRabbit to Clear cache and Clear data for snapchat app and run the diagnostics for the microphone.
Also, check if there is any update for the app and also try to uninstall and reinstall the app and verify if it solves the issue.
