Galaxy SHi SKULL28,
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand your concern regarding certain applications disappearing from the Recent Apps view when returning to the home screen, despite continuing from the same state when reopened through the All Apps menu.
This behavior may be related to system resource management or recent software updates that affect how applications are displayed in the Recents panel. While not all apps are impacted, we recognize that this inconsistency can be frustrating.
Please try with the below troubleshooting steps to fix the issue.
-
Check for Software Updates
-
Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
-
Ensure your device is running the latest version, as updates often fix system UI issues.
-
-
Restart the Device
-
A simple restart can refresh background processes and resolve temporary glitches.
-
-
Clear Cache Partition
-
Power off the device.
-
Press and hold Volume Up + Power until the recovery menu appears.
-
Use the volume keys to select Wipe cache partition and confirm with the power button.
-
This does not delete personal data but clears system cache.
-
-
Check App Settings
-
Navigate to Settings > Apps.
-
Select the affected app and ensure it is not restricted under Battery usage or Background activity.
-
-
Disable Battery Optimization
-
Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background usage limits.
-
Remove the affected apps from Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps.
-
-
Reset App Preferences
-
Go to Settings > Apps > Menu (three dots) > Reset app preferences.
-
This restores default settings for all apps without deleting data.
-
-
Safe Mode Test
-
Restart the device in Safe Mode (press and hold the power button, then tap and hold Power off until Safe Mode appears).
-
Check if the issue persists. If not, a third‑party app may be causing the problem.
-
-
Factory Reset (Last Resort)
-
Backup your data first.
-
Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset.
-
This will restore the device to default settings.
