Why is my phone using data for this when I dont have it set up?

Some Android apps have their data usage metrics merged together. Call&Text on Other Devices (ex CMC) is part of the Android OS group. So it's not necessarily that CMC used data. All you can see is the total data used by this group.

Other such data groups include Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint...)
