Hi, I have a Galaxy S8, and I would like to reset the whole phone to wipe all data from it. Now, when I try to do that it takes me to a point where I have to do a 2-stage verification of my Samsung account. That wouldn't be a problem except I can't send or receive the text message with the verification code to finish verifying my Samsung account because the phone no longer has service, I can only access WiFi. How do I get past this verification request so I can erase all my data off of this S8 I have? Please help me!

Try removing your Samsung and Google accounts from the device and then try resetting

Go to Settings, Accounts and Backup, Manage Accounts, and find your Samsung account and touch the name to bring it up and then Remove Account at the bottom of the page

Thanks, I tried doing it your way, and when I clicked on my Samsung account, it asked for my password... no problem. Then it asked for the 2-step verification code, only this time it sent the text, and I received it on my current phone! So, I was able to set it to skip the 2-step and went in to reset the phone, and all I had to do was enter my password, that's it! Now, my phone is clean, and I can now sell it at my garage sale this summer. Thanks to you! Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

You could try this:

In order to bypass Google 2-step verification during setup, you'll need to do the following:

  1. Navigate to Settings > General Settings > Reset
  2. Follow the setup process until you get to Connect to the WiFi Network
  3. Tap the WiFi password textbox
  4. A Google keyboard will appear. Tap & hold the Spacebar and select English (or your native language)
  5. Back in the WiFi connection screen enter your network password
  6. After a while, you'll be prompted to enter your Google Account information. Enter your email address
  7. Press and hold the @ symbol
  8. Go to Google Keyboard Settings
  9. Tap the three dots menu
  10. Select Help & Feedback
  11. On the next screen, select Search Google & send results from your keyboard
  12. This will open a web page. Press and hold anywhere until you see a menu appear
  13. Tap Web Search within that menu and select Google App
  14. Tap the gear icon to open Settings
  15. Select Backup & Reset
  16. Tap Factory Data Reset
  17. Now, when you go through the setup, you can skip Google Account Verification and bypass Google FRP
