hello,

I have recently found that when blocking a number on my phone, quite literally blocks messages/calls. I blocked a number, I know I received messages but those were never recovered.

so instead of blocking the number I thought maybe I'll just archive the messages without reading them.

my question is, when a message is archived before reading, does it show it as read to the sender ?

Thank you

Hi, Archiving a message generally does not mark it as read for the sender.

Archiving is more about organizing your messages and moving them out of the main inbox without indicating whether you've read the message or not.

However, specific messaging platforms and email clients may have variations in how they handle these actions, so it's a good idea to check the features of the particular service you're using to be certain.

You could ask someone who you want to receive messages from, to send you a message, and tell them you want to test something & will temporarily block them.

Get them to send you a message, archive it, and ask them if they saw you read it or not.

That's the most obvious & easiest way.
