The s25+ and s25u is sold as having 15V3A charging standard. However, it fails to engage/negotiate 15V charging with a PD charger. The recent update now allows SFC2.0 thru a 3A cable which is nice, but it uses PPS. Is there any chance we'll see the phone support the charging standard as advertised? I'm wanting to engage SFC2.0 with a Chromebook charger which is rated for 15V3A.

Hi 42Seb,

We understand how important it is to get the most out of your device’s charging capabilities.

The Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra support Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0 (SFC 2.0), which utilizes PPS (Programmable Power Supply) for optimal charging efficiency and battery health. While USB Power Delivery is supported, the device prioritizes PPS over fixed voltage PD profiles like 15V/3A.

With the recent update, SFC 2.0 can now function with a 3A cable, but to achieve the fastest charging speeds, the charger must support PPS. If your Chromebook charger does not support PPS, it may default to a lower PD charging speed.

We appreciate your feedback and will ensure it is shared with the relevant team. For the best experience, we recommend using a Samsung charger that meets the necessary specifications.

Let us know if you need further assistance!

Thank you.

That is unfortunate, but thanks for confirming the technicalities of the situation. I was under the impression that SFC2.0 would be able to achieve 45W peak through the PD 15V profile. I hope this feedback can somehow be passed to the team. I understand PPS will always be desirable. If it is not available, I don't see why PD15V would not be used. If it's a technical reason, then I understand. However, my concern is that it was an oversight (similar to how the 3A vs 5A cable compatibility was also an oversight and recently patched)
