Hi guys. I just switched from my S22 to S24. I performed Smart Switch first, and I am pretty sure my whatsapp image and video folder shifted correctly to the S24. However, when I transferred account and chats to my S24, I noticed that my whatsapp folders had vanished, both from my S22 and S24! While transferring chats to the new phone, I did switch back and forth a few times between both devices with my whatsapp account. But I didnt perform any delete options whatsoever. Anybody has any idea what caused this problem and if I can recover the folder from my S22? :(
Did you clear the app cache and data on either of the phones when you did the back and forth? I had noticed before that when you do that, the media is cleared as well.
You can try checking the trash in either your gallery or your "my files" apps to see if anything is there.
And if you do backups with samsung cloud, you can try restoring whatsapp from there and see if it'll bring back the data.
